The William Armstrong website
The William Armstrong website has been launched to offer insights into all aspects of the life of this remarkable man. It will provide an ever-growing information resource as well as carrying details of the many events planned to celebrate the bicentenary of his birth in November 2010.
Armstrong left his mark on many places in Britain and around the globe, from Chile to Italy to Lake Baikal in Siberia. For example, during the 1890s his Elswick firm was largely responsible for building and arming the imperial navy of Japan. Wherever you are in the world, if you have a story to tell relating to Armstrong, please visit the Contact page and send us a message.
The site has been designed and constructed by Andy Tough.
